Hij is in de avonden altijd te porren voor een goed electrofeestje, terwijl hij overdag meer interesse heeft in moderne kunst en/of een film. Wel probeert hij altijd open te staan voor andere dingen, dus Check Uit wordt een goede test om te kijken of hij zich ook kan vinden in bijvoorbeeld opera of dans. Hij heeft een hekel aan pretentieus geneuzel waardoor de gemiddelde Nederlander niet meer snapt waar het over gaat. Verder is hij bij uitgaan niet vies van een beetje commercieel als het maar leuk/gezellig/interessant is.
Oeps! Laat het een les voor iedereen zijn; dubbelcheck altijd de tijden van een voorstelling, om zo te voorkomen dat je - net als Ru - je uitstapje in het water ziet vallen. Erg jammer, hopelijk krijg ik ooit nog een kans... Zie ook www.hettoneelspeelt.nl

En de droom van Katalijne en Remco over een gelukkige en harmonieuze toekomst verandert in een nachtmerrie.
Lot Vekemans (auteur) houdt ervan om in haar toneelstukken alledaagse problemen te situeren in uitzonderlijke toestanden. Het gaat altijd over mensen die in de knoop raken met het verschil tussen wie ze zijn en wie ze willen zijn. Truckstop gaat over mensen die zichzelf gekmaken met hun verlangens.
